A Forex Trading Mentor Is The Real Key To Trading Success

By: Donald Saunders

Accurate and timely information is the secret to success in many areas of our lives and a knowledgeable and informed Forex trader has a better awareness of how markets move and thus a far better chance when it comes to making a good profit from trading. If you do not have the necessary knowledge then you are largely shooting in the dark and, although you may find success occasionally, you are almost certain to lose in the longer term.

There is a mass of information available on foreign exchange trading with thousands of books in circulation and hundreds of sites offering advice and information. Therefore, if home-study appeals to you, there are lots of guides that will take you through the intricacies of foreign exchange trading.

One difficulty however with the advice and information available though sites is that it is generally extremely patchy and may lack any structure. There is certainly a large quantity of advice and information out there, a lot of it excellent and detailed, but tracking down just what you want and following it in a logical order could be difficult.

If you are determined to learn the minutiae of Forex trading then there can be little doubt that you will need to arm yourself with a good guide which lays out the material in both a logical and structured manner. These courses, of which there are many, will vary in cost from those that are free to those priced at a thousand dollars or more and, in general, you are going to get what you pay for.

Essentially there are two types of course available.

The first is an Internet course which generally lets you undertake the course at a time to suit your lifestyle and at a pace that you are comfortable with. The chief drawback is that you will be studying by yourself and it can be difficult to find the assistance you need when you run across something that you do not understand.

The second type of course is the old fashioned 'classroom' course. Courses of this type are held frequently in most major cities and provided you with the benefit of being able to learn with other students and with an instructor there to help guide you through the problem areas. Of course, you will need to travel to your classes and follow a class schedule. Missing a lesson or two may also present problems because it is not necessarily easy to catch up.

You can also attend typically two or three day seminars which will plunge you into the world of Forex trading and give you an extremely fast introduction to exchange trading. Although there are a lot of seminars offered, most are geared to relatively advanced traders and are rarely put on for the benefit of newcomers.

There are a couple of variations on the themes of the usual Internet course and these are CD ROM and video training courses. The first will generally include several interactive segments and, because it is intended to be run on your PC, will make use of a number of sites to help in the learning process. The chief problem with both CD ROM and video training courses is that they frequently come with little support and simply leave you sitting in the dark whenever you get stuck.

At the end of the day however and, despite the large amount of material available and the ease of taking a home-study course in a variety of different formats, the true key to success in learning foreign currency trading is to learn at the hands of an experienced trader, or a Forex trading mentor.

Courses, of whatever type, can undoubtedly provide the technical information you need, but the true answer to making significant sums of money from trading the Forex lies in possessing a insight and knowledge of trading strategies that only comes with years of experience and practice. Trading in th company of a master Forex trader will certainly not be cheap but, as long as you can afford it, it will provide you with a handsome return on your investment in the long run.
